In macOS 10.14 and earlier, iTunes was the app where all your media lived—music, home videos, TV shows, movies, podcasts, and audiobooks. iTunes was the one app for everything, including backing up and syncing your iPhone, iPad, or iPod.
Now, macOS Catalina introduces three dedicated apps—Apple Music, Apple TV, and Apple Podcasts—to your Mac. Content from your iTunes library has migrated into each of these apps so that you don’t miss a beat. To back up, restore, and sync your content, simply connect your device to your Mac and use the Finder. Or, just sign in with the same Apple ID on all your devices to sync content seamlessly.
